Nikon D7500 Camera Body with 18 – 140 mm VR Digital DSLR Kit – Black Reviews Products :

A brilliant camera to gain confidence with.
The last SLR I had was a Minolta 7000 AF, since then, I have been seduced by a range of Digitals, Compacts, and Bridge Cameras, all offering various degrees of manual and auto functions, but mainly favouring auto.

So as it is close on to 15 years since I have had an SLR, this latest Nikon d7500 is a big upgrade for me, and as such, I have re-started the learning curve.

In the box, there is everything, bar an SD card to get you going, D7500 Camera Body, the 18-1400mm VR Lens which is a good Jack-of-all-trades lens, a decent enough Strap, an eyepiece adapter for when you do self-timer shots, an EN-EL15a Li-ion Battery … I will probably get another, a battery charger which will work on 110 to 240v, a USB cable, and a European warranty card. The 18 – 140 lens is a good everyday lens, and I will buy an additional 35 or 50mm to complement it.

I bought a SanDisk Extreme Pro 95MB/S 32GB card for about £20, and that so far has been fast enough for problem…

A very capable and feature rich camera
I consider this D7500 to be the upgrade to my £800 D7200 which at the time of writing is £500 cheaper (based on bodies only prices). Unless there is something that you specifically need in the D7500 that doesn’t feature in the D7200, then I would recommend taking a look at the D7200. Whilst the D7500 is technically better in many ways, a lot of the photos taken are pretty much the same quality.

Pricing aside, this is a superb camera. I am a pretty lazy photographer in that I tend to use Auto on most occasions which gives some spectacular results. I am starting to learn how to properly use my D7200 and as this camera is much the same it is pretty easy to transfer what I have learnt across to this camera. There are a whole host of settings to play around with and they are pretty easy to navigate through especially with the touch screen. The menu is clean and segregated into manageable areas, so it doesn’t take long to find what you are looking for. There are some limited…

A true Gem
New from Nikon this year, the Nikon D7500 is awesome, there is no other word to describe it.

This camera will, it seems, do just about anything and everything. If I say that the User Manual is over 360 pages long it will give you an idea of the learning curve you will embark upon with the D7500. There is just about every bell and whistle you could ask for and a few more besides. With perhaps one omission, it does not come with an SD card. You would have thought that when paying almost £1600 for the camera they could have thrown in a half descent card. Anyway I got my own (SanDisk Extreme Pro) and I find very good.

The Li-ion battery seems to last very well and has a re-charge time is about two and a half hours using the charger and cable provided. I may invest in a spare battery if I find I need it but that is for the future.

As is common these days there is a good choice of lenses you can purchase with the camera and it really is a question of how…
