Graco Junior Maxi Plus Group 2/3 Car Seat – Sport Lime Reviews Products :
Good seat, but maybe not suitable for younger children who like to fall asleep whilst drivingWe bought this seat for my eldest boy who is 3 and half years old, and was still using his first stage seat (baby seat) with harness and reclining action. This one is certainly easier to put him in and out of, and fasten up the seat belt, also if you wish to remove the seat out of the car for any reason its so easy as its just placed in the car on the rear seat. My only concern about this seat is that on a couple of occasions my boy as fallen asleep whilst driving and almost slid out of the seat, and strangled himself on the seat belt.
With a total test score limited to just 20% by the poor side impact protectionI have just thrown this in the bin having read the ‘Which’ review of it. Here is an excerpt:
With a total test score limited to just 20% by the poor side impact protection, we recommend you don’t buy this seat.
If you already own one of these seats, think about buying a better seat, but don’t stop using it until you’ve bought a new one – after all, any seat is better than no seat at all.
Pros: Light and easy to use, easy to clean
Cons: Side crash protection is so poor we recommend you DON’T BUY this seat Graco Junior Maxi
I replaced it with a Maxi-Cosi Rodi Airprotect Car Seat which was not too much wider and got very good reviews from ‘Which’.
light weight and easy to fitWe bought these as extra seats for a our spare car. They are very practical, light weight and easy to fit. The only issue is that the boys are now much more upright than they were in their baby seats. When they fall asleep, their heads loll forward and they can wake up quite uncomfortable. There are products available where you add an extra seat belt, making it a cross over their chest, and we are looking into this. I’ve had adults in the back since buying these and they come out very easily and fit into the boot.
